Beef in Black Bean Sauce (Low Fat)

Beef in Black Bean

(Low fat version)

This recipe still has the lovely flavour of black bean. A great recipe if you are watching those kilos.

Cooking Time 15 minutes

Serves 4

Degree of difficulty: easy

  • 450g lean beef strips
  • 1 bunch fresh asparagus
  • ½ cup red capsicum diced
  • ½ cup green capsicum diced
  • 1 cup celery sliced
  • 1 cup onion sliced
  • 3 Tablespoons Chang’s Black Bean Sauce
  • 1 teaspoon crushed garlic (in jar)
  • 2 teaspoons corn flour
  • 1 cup water

Trim about 5 cm from thick end of asparagus spears then cut spears 3-4 cm in size, leave to one side. In a non-stick wok or frypan coated with cooking spray saute garlic and beef strips until cooked. Remove from pan. Re-spray pan and cook capsicum, celery, onion and asparagus, toss together for 1 minute. Place lid on pan and cook for 3 minutes, stirring occasionally. Add cooked beef to vegetables, add stock powder, sugar and black bean sauce, toss ingredients together. Blend cornflour with water and add to frypan, stirring through. When boiled serve over rice or Changs Low fat Egg noodles.

Tip

Skinless Chicken breast (450g) cut into strips or new fashioned pork steaks (450g) cut into strips can also be used in this recipe.
