BASCO's Fettuccine Carbonara is a gluten free fettuccine in a creamy bacon and cheese flavoured sauce which can be made on the stove top or in the microwave.

 

Ingredients

Pasta (80%) [Rice Flour, Potato Starch, Tapioca Starch, Maize Flour, Soy Flour, Vegetable Gum (402)], Cheese Powder (7%) [Milk Solids, Maltodextrin (From Maize), Cheese (10%) (Milk, Salt ", Starter Culture, Enzymes), Hydrolysed Vegetable Protein, Food Acid (Citric)], Whey Powder, Non Fat Milk Solids, Salt, Mineral Salts (339, 341, 4 50), Dried Bacon Peices (1%) [Food Acid (Citric), Antioxidants (310, 316), Preservative (250)], Beverage Whitener [Glucose Syrup Solids (From Tapioca), Vegetable Fat, Sodium Caseinate (From Milk), Mineral Salts (340, 451, 452)], Emulsifiers (Soy Lecithin, 471, 481), Flavour Enhancers (621, 635), Flavours, Anti-Caking Agents (551, 554), Pepper.

 

Made on equipment that also processes Egg, Milk, Peanuts and Tree Nuts.

 

Stovetop directions

You will need:

  • BASCO Fettuccine Carbonara Pasta & Sauce Mix
  • 1 Tbsp (20g) Margarine or Butter
  • ½ Cup (125mL) Milk
  • 1½ Cups (375mL) Water

1. Place in a medium saucepan 1 Tbsp margarine, ½ cup milk and 1 ½ cups water and bring to the boil.

2. Once boiling, add BASCO Fettuccine Carbonara packet to the saucepan, stirring constantly.

3. Bring to the boil, then reduce heat and simmer uncovered for 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking. Sauce will thicken on standing.

Microwave directions

(Important Note: microwave cooking times are based on a 1000W Microwave and are a guide only):

1. Place 1½ cups hot water, ½ cup milk and 1 Tbsp margarine or butter into a microwave safe bowl.

2. Add BASCO Fettuccine Carbonara packet into a microwave safe bowl, and stir. Cook uncovered on HIGH for 10-15 minutes, stirring 2-3 times to prevent sticking.

3. Allow to stand for 3 minutes. Sauce will thicken on standing.
